AI & Automation Architect

Turn Strategy Into Systems

Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Department: Production

About Ampra

Ampra helps small and midsize businesses put AI, automation, and practical modern tools to work in ways that actually help.

We are not a software company selling one platform, and we are not a traditional agency handing over slide decks. We work closely with business owners and teams to identify friction, design better workflows, and implement practical solutions that save time, improve quality, and reduce manual work.

Our goal is simple: help clients create momentum by turning good ideas into systems that actually work.

The Role

We’re looking for an AI & Automation Architect to help turn client strategy into real-world implementation.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can think clearly about business problems, design practical solutions, and build reliable systems using AI tools, automation platforms, and low-code or no-code workflows.

You’ll work across a range of client environments and use cases. Sometimes that means building automations in Zapier, Make, or n8n. Sometimes it means connecting APIs, improving a workflow, helping a team use AI tools more effectively, or creating simple technical solutions that remove friction and save time.

The right person for this role is technical enough to build, practical enough to prioritize, and business-minded enough to understand what actually matters to the client.

What You'll Do

Design and build solutions

  • Build AI-powered automations and workflows using tools like Zapier, Make, n8n, Claude Cowork, and related platforms

  • Connect apps, systems, and APIs to streamline repetitive work and improve operational flow

  • Design workflows that include logic, routing, decision-making, handoffs, and exception handling

  • Build solutions that fit the way each client actually works, not just what looks good on paper

Translate strategy into implementation

  • Turn business needs and strategic recommendations into technical plans and working systems

  • Break down messy or ambiguous problems into clear steps, priorities, and deliverables

  • Balance speed, simplicity, and reliability when deciding what to build

  • Test, refine, and improve solutions based on real usage and feedback

Support clients and internal delivery

  • Work closely with strategists, clients, and team members to bring solutions to life

  • Help clients understand what was built, how it works, and how to maintain or extend it

  • Create clear documentation, SOPs, and training materials when needed

  • Provide support during rollout and help troubleshoot issues as they arise

Contribute to Ampra’s growth

  • Help us improve how we scope, build, document, and deliver implementation work

  • Contribute templates, reusable workflows, and best practices to our internal library

  • Stay current on tools and platforms that could improve client outcomes

  • Bring ideas to the table that help us get better as a team

You Might Be a Great Fit If You

Think in systems

  • You naturally see inefficiencies, dependencies, and opportunities to simplify

  • You can take a messy process and turn it into something structured and workable

  • You know how to balance ideal solutions with practical constraints

Build with confidence

  • You’ve built real automations and workflows that people actually use

  • You’re comfortable with APIs, webhooks, data mapping, logic, and error handling

  • You can use AI tools as part of the solution, not just as a novelty

Communicate clearly

  • You can explain technical concepts in a way that makes sense to non-technical people

  • You ask good questions, listen well, and clarify assumptions early

  • You document your work so others can understand and use it

Operate with ownership

  • You are proactive, resourceful, and comfortable figuring things out

  • You care about outcomes, not just whether something technically “works”

  • You move projects forward and improve from feedback rather than waiting for perfect conditions

Experience We Value

Required

  • 3+ years building automations, workflows, or technical systems in production environments

  • Strong experience with tools such as Zapier, Make, n8n, or similar automation platforms

  • Experience working with APIs, webhooks, logic paths, data transformation, and troubleshooting

  • Familiarity with AI tools and APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar platforms

  • Proven ability to solve real business problems through implementation, not just ideation

Preferred

  • Experience in solutions architecture, operations, or technical implementation

  • Experience working with SMBs, founder-led businesses, or fast-moving teams

  • Exposure to workflows across sales, operations, customer service, marketing, or internal admin

What Success Looks Like

  • You build solutions that clients actually adopt and value

  • You help reduce friction, save time, and improve reliability across client workflows

  • You make complex ideas feel clear and manageable

  • You contribute to a delivery process that is thoughtful, practical, and repeatable

  • You help Ampra become known for implementation that is both strategic and grounded

What We Offer

Compensation and opportunity

  • Competitive compensation based on experience and scope

  • Performance upside tied to impact and contribution

  • Opportunity to grow with the company as our delivery team expands

  • Budget for tools, learning, and professional development

Work environment

  • Fully remote with flexible working hours

  • High trust, high ownership culture

  • Direct exposure to interesting businesses and practical use cases

  • Opportunity to do meaningful work with real client impact
